CAREFUL MOLECULAR DISTILLATION

Molecular Distillation has become something of a buzzword in marketing Fish Oil products. Simply put, it describes a type of equipment: a wiped film evaporator with a chilled center condenser operated under high vacuum. While the actual definition is fairly technical, the technique is  important to Fish Oil purification.

REMOVAL OF PCBS AND FISHY ODORS

Molecular distillation is extremely effective at removing Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs), without damaging delicate EPA & DHA Omega-3s. PCBs, an environmental contaminant, have both man-made and natural sources. Minute trace quantities can be found globally in all Fish Oils. To meet EU and California Proposition 65 standards, oils must be distilled to remove PCBs. Fishy odors are also effectively removed using this process.

DOESN’T THE HEAT DAMAGE THE OILS?

NOT IF IT’S DONE CORRECTLY BY EXPERTS WITH DECADES OF EXPERIENCE.

CONCENTRATED EPA & DHA OMEGA-3S

Alaska Pollock oil (like most Fish Oils*) is a rich source of EPA and DHA Omega-3s, but they are still only present at about 20-25% Omega-3 content. In order to reach daily-recommended intakes from international scientific experts and only swallow 1-2 capsules, the Omega-3 portion must be concentrated. The sophisticated and proprietary AlaskOmega® process can reach as high as 85% Omega-3, allowing us to deliver a Peak dose of EPA & DHA in a single softgel.
